Bricoleur Vineyards has an opening for a self-motivated, talented and experienced Controller to join our Bricoleur Vineyards team. The Controller is a hands-on dynamic role that will have multiple accounting and finance responsibilities with the goal of building a successful fast growth & profitable Company. The Controller for Bricoleur Vineyards will be responsible for performing all the major accounting functions overseeing the day-to-day integrity of the financials, while delivering timely and accurate monthly financial statements
ESSENTIAL OPERATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Possess strong leadership, communication, organization, sales, and relationship skills building positive, professional relationships with co-workers, vendors and partners.
· Good multi-tasking ability working well under pressure with a tight timeline.
· Perform all accounting functions for the financial organization initially while building a team over time. Ensure accurate accounting records for the organization in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensure transactions are documented with the appropriate audit trail and appropriate internal controls are in place to reduce risk.
· Lead the monthly close process, including detailed general ledger review of multiple entities, inventory reconciliation, and consolidating intercompany transactions.
· Prepare and communicate timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements, including budget variance analysis with each department in the organization.
· Work with management to improve the methodology, accuracy and timeliness of inventory cost accounting, with particular emphasis on related and third-party transactions and creation of COGS targets.
· Provide day-to-day guidance, support and continuous learning and development opportunities for the business leads within the organization, including actively working to promote and recognize performance or identify problem areas and take corrective action.
· Identify, recommend, and implement department financial and budgetary improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency within each department.
· Work with management on detailed budgeting, forecasting, & long-range planning.
· Collaborate with senior management with monthly KPI dashboards, including financial ratios.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 3+ years of experience as a Controller within a winery environment.
2. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the accounting field, MBA preferred.
3. Demonstrated hands -on enthusiasm with the experience building & leading a team.
4. Requires outstanding organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
5. Experience with multiple brands and/or entities highly desirable.
6. Wine costing experience with SKU level informative results preferred.
7. Quickbooks desktop accounting software experience a plus.
8. Advanced level skills in the use of Excel required.
9. Attention to detail, accuracy and maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality are essential.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, at all hierarchical levels.
11. Should be self-motivated, confident, high energy, decisive, and collaborative in approach.
