2023 Harvest Intern
(Wine Jobs:
Vineyards & Cellars )
Contract
DuMOL Winery
Windsor,
California
We are looking for ONE intern to join our small team at DuMOL for the 2023 harvest. At DuMOL we are lucky to work with some of the finest vineyards in Sonoma and Napa counties. Our high-density hillside Estate Vineyard is located in the coastal Russian River Valley area and we also lease/source fruit from many famous and old vine vineyards in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Carneros, Napa Valley and Moon Mountain districts. We make a majority of high end Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in addition to Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin blanc, and Mencia. Total volume is approximately 400 tons. Our wines are some of the finest in their styles in California.
As an intern you will have exposure to a broad range of vineyard and winemaking activities from vineyard sampling and analyses, overseeing harvest picks, fermentation management, barrel work, and racking/blending of the previous vintage wines. We try to limit the amount of fruit sorting our interns do by clean picking plus technology. We are small full-time team of 4, dedicated and passionate about our work, and aim for the highest quality with a classical approach to winegrowing. Interns will be given significant responsibility and will play a critical role in the making of the 2023 wines.
We always take time to enjoy the harvest season, so a good team spirit is key. We provide lunch (with wine!) every day and always have a wonderfully diverse group of cultures and backgrounds. The internship will be 3 months from mid-August until mid-November with the possibility of extension depending on the vintage, good overtime potential, competitive pay, plus assistance finding housing and transport. We offer a rare, valuable experience with a wonderful range of exposure and responsibility. See more information at www.dumol.com .
