About Us

Negociants International is a Hill-Smith Family Estates business. Based in Australia’s famous Barossa we are the exporter of leading Australian and New Zealand wineries including Yalumba Family Winemakers, Oxford Landing Estates, Pewsey Vale Vineyards, Jansz Tasmania, Dalrymple and Nautilus Estate.  We are seeking an experienced wine professional to take on the newly created role of Market Manager – USA.

About the role

Reporting to the Australian based Executive Director – Negociants International, the successful US based candidate will be the primary contact for our US importer, Winebow Imports, and will be responsible for achieving our US sales targets, deepening key in-market relationships and overseeing the increase in reputation and availability of our folio of wines in the USA.

This fast-paced, diverse role balances commercial discipline with strong relationship management and market development skills and is a senior position within our international business.

Key Requirements

  • Manage key relationships at all levels within our importer and distribution networks as well as building relationships with identified key accounts and wine industry leaders
  • Clearly communicate overarching brand objectives and collaborate to develop market and channel specific implementation plans.
  • Accountable for our volume, margin, and expenses targets in the USA you will lead the annual planning cycle, conduct regular business reviews, and provide periodic management reporting.  
  • Monitor key competitor activity and changes to market conditions and recommend changes to planned activity where necessary.
  • Lead importer and distributor education programmes for our wine folio and represent our wines in relevant distributor, trade, and consumer events.

Candidates must carry current, valid and full rights to work in the US.

About You

Commercially astute, you have a deep knowledge of the US wine market and the Australian category, ideally as a brand representative or working for an importer or distributor.

Naturally curious, you seek to understand stakeholder strategy and tailor plans to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.

A polished written and verbal communicator, you are equally comfortable presenting market plans to importers and distributors as you are conveying brand stories to trade and consumers.

Self-motivated and results focused you enjoy working autonomously and as part of a remote team, can travel regularly and can confidently manage working across multiple time zones.

You have current, valid and full rights to work in the US.
