Tyler Winery is seeking passionate and motivated interns for the 2018 harvest season. We are a small, quality-driven winery with emphasis on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County. We also work with Loire varietals like Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc for a separate project. We also have some smaller projects starting this vintage that we are very excited about-gotta keep it fresh! We look to bring in about 300 tons with all projects combined.
As a harvest intern you will work closely with the Owner/Winemaker and our Assistant Winemakers at our well-equipped facility at the Santa Rita Hills Wine Center. You will be involved in all aspects of crush activities, from sorting to pressing to fermentation management, and everything in between. We ask that you be adaptable and follow direction well and take lots of pride in your cleaning! We are a fast paced winery and applicants must be motivated to get after it.
Successful candidates will be detail oriented with a strong work ethic. The ability to use initiative is imperative. Applicants must be flexible, and able to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime-grapes don’t take time off! This is a great opportunity to experience a high quality grape harvest with a globally reputable brand. We are seeking someone that is as passionate about wine as we are. We try to share lunch and wine together as much as possible-so someone savvy in the kitchen and enthusiastic about prepping an easy meal is an added bonus.
We anticipate a start date at the beginning of August. Applicants must be able to work through late October-harvest depending. Knowledge about the wine industry is essential and harvest experience is preferred, as we like to geek out a bit. We are looking forward to a great harvest team.
