Sojourn Cellars is a highly acclaimed producer of Pinot noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay wines located in the town of Sonoma. We are seeking an experienced and motivated sales professional to manage and implement sales strategies nationwide, covering wholesale and distribution channels.
The National Sales Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of wholesale sales and distribution networks nationally. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for wine and the ability to work collaboratively as a part of our management team. You must be self-motivated and enjoy working with the public and providing exceptional customer service. The position will require travel.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals
• Continually develop and maintain strong relationships with distributor partners
• Develop new programs and ideas to improve performance of key markets
• Identify and secure new independent, regional and national accounts
• Follow up on sales leads gathered through events, direct contacts, and other team members
• Create and maintain wholesale pricing strategy
• Attend wholesale and consumer wine tasting events (public and private)
• Regularly analyze sales to seek new opportunities or develop solutions
• Work with our finance team to manage accounts receivable for each distributor and account
• Develop annual business plans and operating budgets
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on sales activities
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
• 5+ years wine industry related sales and marketing experience
• Thorough knowledge of the wine industry, sales and market trends, viticulture and wine making practices
• Proven track record of successful sales
• Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel at distribution and wholesale account partners
• B.S. or B.A. degree
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills including public speaking and negotiating
• Excellent leadership, time management and organizational skills
• Willingness to work and flourish in a team environment
• Effective at representing a luxury brand
• Availability to travel overnight frequently and work flexible hours
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Clean driving record
