Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Sales and Experience Associate serves as the primary point of contact for visitors to Alma Rosa Winery Ranch House and Tasting Room, delivering exceptional customer service and enriching guests' understanding and appreciation of our wines. This role involves guiding wine tastings, providing educational information about our offerings, creating business to business relationships and promoting our brand through direct sales and wine club memberships.

Responsibilities:

Guest Engagement:
•  Greeting all customers warmly, ensuring a welcoming and memorable experience.
•  Through an engaging and informative tasting experience, connect with the guests and ‘meet them where they are’ in their personal wine journey bringing them into the Alma Rosa fold, supplanting any of their preconceived notions of what wine is.
•  Create memorable tasting experiences by personalizing tastings to guest preferences when identified
•  Convert guests to long time bottled wine and wine club customers
•  Host exclusive group events at the ranch property, curating tasting experiences for unique parties

Sales and Promotion:
•  Actively promote and sell bottles of wine, wine club memberships and merchandise.
•  Strive to meet and exceed daily and monthly sales goals.
•  Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.

Operational Support:
•  Assist in setting up and breaking down for daily operations and special events.
•  Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting areas.
•  Stock and organize wine and merchandise displays, ensuring products are presented attractively.

Team Collaboration:
•  Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth tasting room operations.
•  Work closely with Brand Outreach team to continue ongoing business relationships and foster new partnerships
•  Develop relationships with other businesses, creating mutually beneficial arrangements with other hospitality groups
•  Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance product knowledge and service skills.

Qualifications :
•  Previous experience in customer service or sales, preferably in the wine or hospitality industry.
•  Possess a genuine curiosity in all day-to-day human interactions.
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
•  Basic math skills, Point of Sale System and sales transaction experience.
•  Computer skills including basic proficiency in MS Office suite of products.
•  Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
•  A passion for wine and a desire to continually learn about varietals, production methods and larger industry trends.
•  WSET or similar certifications encouraged, but not required.

Physical Requirements:
•  Ability to stand for extended periods.
•  Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
•  Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures
•  Ability to carry < 20 lb. backpack while speaking during moderate hiking conditions in varying heat levels
•  Ability to operate multi-passenger (8+) motor vehicle, ATV or golf cart on ranch roads.
