Vineyard Intern
Monterey Pacific Inc. is a dynamic and innovative vineyard management company growing premium winegrapes on the Central Coast. MPI currently farms vineyards from the Santa Lucia Highlands to Hames Valley in Monterey County.

The Vineyard Intern will work alongside the Vineyard Technician, providing the necessary technical and phenological data for our team.
Approximate timeframe of internship: March 1st – September 2018 (flexible)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Phenological data collection
- Assist in maintaining soil moisture/telemetry network
- Monitor and maintain all field sensors (Ranch Systems, Tule, etc.)
- Collect leaf blades for nutritional analysis
- Help collect data on various trials (soil health, new plantings, pruning systems, etc.)
- Assist with Harvest activities, including sampling and laboratory analysis
Qualifications:
- Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record required
- Viticulture or Enology related coursework
- Must be highly familiar with Excel, and be able to learn new computer programs and tablet apps.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time accordingly.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) will enhance the value of the internship.
Applicants must be self-motivated and energetic individuals who can work on their own when necessary. The job will not be limited to the responsibilities listed above, and involvement with other vineyard activities will be available on a regular basis. This is a great opportunity to work with a variety of vineyard farming systems in a premium viticultural area on the Central Coast.
