We are currently recruiting for a Director of Human Resources to join our award winning team. This position is responsible for identifying and developing strategic initiatives and human resource programs for all winery and vineyard operations to align with our core values, business goals and objective, while promoting engagement, teamwork and respect for employees and their contributions to our success. Will provide direction and leadership to management in all areas of organizational development, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee relations, legal requirements and compliance, performance management and learning and development strategies to drive targeted results while motivating and developing employees. Will also manage compensation and benefit programs to remain competitive within the wine industry and the area. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•  Identifies, develops and implements key human resource strategies and programs, policies and procedures in support of the Company’s goals and targeted results, while promoting the desired culture and ensuring fair and consistent application across all areas of the Company. 
•  Works with departmental management on development of organizational structures, capabilities and talent management to achieve identified goals and objectives. 
•  Identifies and explores talent resources to meet business needs; works with management to identify employee training and development that drives business results and develops programs to help source, train, motivate and retain needed talent and resources. 
•  Collaborates with management in the investigation and resolution of complex employee issues.
•  Manages compensation and benefit programs, working closely with brokers and other resources to ensure high quality, cost effective benefits and services for our employees. Collaborates with managers and supervisors in evaluating performance, promotional opportunities and salary levels. Participates in salary surveys and networking opportunities to ensure our comp and benefit programs remain competitive.
•  Drives continuous improvement in Human Resources programs; hires, trains and develops HR staff, providing leadership, coaching, mentoring and accountability on HR processes, procedures, projects and initiatives. 
•  Manages workers’ compensation programs and works with management to investigate and address accidents, injuries and safety issues and concerns, adhering to CA-OSHA training and compliance requirements. 
•  Stays current on industry trends and legal requirements to ensure the Company’s ongoing compliance with employment legislation. 
•  Ensures that the St. Francis Winery culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions.
•  Collaborates with leadership in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to accomplish goals and objectives, while creating and nurturing a culture of open communication, employee engagement, teamwork and positive employee relations. 
•  Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
•  Influences at all levels of the organization and works effectively across functions. 
•  Ensures short and long term human resource goals are in alignment with sustainability in all areas that support our business, our employees and our community, as well as future generations. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience/Skills 
•  BA/BS in human resources, business, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•  8+ years’ increasingly responsible Human Resources management experience required; SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Previous winery experience preferred.
•  Strong leadership qualities with both managers and employees, promoting excellence in team and individual growth. 
•  Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, as well as project and time management skills. Bilingual verbal and written communication skills preferred. 
•  Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage constantly changing priorities.
•  Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of general HR practices, employee relations, organizational development and change management. 
•  Ability to read and understand legal requirements and apply to existing and new Company policies. 
•  Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and HR and Payroll database systems. 
•  Valid CA driver’s license.
