JOB DESCRIPTION:

An established, family-owned winery in the San Joaquin Valley that produces 100,000 gallons of wine annually, is looking for a winemaker with the following qualifications:

·        Enology degree

·         4 years plus of experience as a winemaker

·         great sensory evaluation, palate and blending skills.

·        Understanding of regulatory compliance, QC and sanitation processes.

·          Strong chemistry, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

·        Strong communication and presentation skills to work with clients.

·        Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

·        Knowledge of bulk inventory systems for TTB compliance preferred.

·        This is a hands-on winemaking job encompassing all duties expected of a winemaker.

Responsibilities:

·        Manage all stages of the winemaking process including grape selection, crushing, fermenting, aging, blending, and bottling.

·        Responsible for developing and producing a portfolio of white, red, and sweet still wines and Charmat method sparkling wines of consistent quality, style, and flavor profiles.

·        Lead the team of supportive cellar workers in daily procedures, using work orders and verbal instruction.

·        Work full- time, overtime included when necessary (mostly harvest, crush season)

Work with winery clientele (growers, distributors, and private label clients) to develop custom blends and assist with their needs.

 

 

 

Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 depending on qualifications and experience
