Staff Accountant (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

DAOU Vineyards is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our driven and dedicated team. The position primarily supports the Accounting Manager but will assist the entire Finance & Accounting Department with daily/weekly analysis and reporting projects, month-end close, and the annual audit.

 

Position Responsibilities

• Reconcile and post daily sales interfaces
• Receive, audit, reconcile, and record all incoming payments from multiple sources.
• Prepare and post approved journal entries.
• Responsible for general ledger accounts, including but not limited to bank accounts, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts based on technical expertise.
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of month-end close tasks including detailed monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and related GL subsidiary ledgers, journal entries and other accounting related processes, as designated by the Accounting Manager.
• Monitor and dispute credit card chargebacks with merchant company(s) as needed.
• Assist with the Company’s annual financial audit by preparing audit schedules and compiling requested documents
• Interact with and assist accounting team in resolving problems, GL coding questions, and process improvement ideas
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives
• Support a high-volume department by cross training on the regular duties of other accounting staff members
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed

 

Requirements

• BS-degree in Accounting or Business preferred or comparable experience
• Knowledge and understanding of subsidiary and general ledger transaction flow and reconciliations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related duties as assigned.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy, with a high level of integrity
• Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and meet deadlines
• Highly motivated, results oriented individual who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Is intellectually curious and continuously challenges the status quo in search of a better way.
• Has an entrepreneurial spirit, acts now, does it today.

• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000/yr.
