Job Description:
The Consumer Marketing Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the staff to execute the mission of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance: to promote the Paso Robles AVA (American Viticultural Area) bringing visitors to our area and awareness to potential customers in markets around the region, state and country. The Consumer Marketing Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of consumer marketing and events.
Responsibilities:
The Consumer Marketing Manager duties include, but are not limited to:
• Manage the marketing efforts of the PRWCA
o Paid - digital, print, radio
o Owned – website, blog, social media, podcast
• Create, develop, and manage advertising campaigns
• Manage pasowine.com website – updating w/ seasons, events, and current info
• Ownership of social media content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
• Craft compelling and creative content for e-blasts, social media, website, podcast
• Conceptualize, schedule, and author bi-weekly blog/content marketing series with members
• Collaborate and manage agencies, including:
o Graphic design, media buying, and photo & video
• Oversee execution of the Where Wine Takes You podcast
• Supervise, conceptualize, and assist in the production of digital and creative assets
• Help produce and assist photo and video shoots for PRWCA marketing materials
• Work with event team on event execution, ticketing, marketing, and promotion
• Contribute and assist in execution of the annual PRWCA virtual auction
• Proofread and edit internal projects, including quarterly newsletter
• Stay up-to-date on current marketing trends, incorporating into the organization’s plans and programs; review and implement new marketing strategies
• Lead PRWCA marketing meetings and programs, as well as involvement in marketing and event committees
• Prepare marketing presentation for PRWCA Board of Directors every six weeks with plans, programs, events, and metrics
• Prepare marketing presentation for PRWCA Mid-year and Year-end membership meetings
Job Requirements:
• Strong marketing background in digital advertising, email marketing, and social media
• Ability to interpret data (Google Analytics, Meta, etc.)
• Ability to work with numerous members and partners to execute programs and campaigns
• Creative and forward-thinking colleague who brings new ideas to the organization
• Experience in wine industry marketing, and promotion is beneficial
• Ability to work independently, problem solve, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
• Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere, with the ability to retain and cultivate working relationships
• Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
• Must be a team player who works well in groups
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to take direction and input
• University degree, college diploma, or five years work experience in related field of study applicable to this position (i.e., business, marketing, communications, etc.)
• Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, a must; Canva, Crowdriff, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, MailChimp, WordPress beneficial)
• Knowledge and experience with social media platforms
• Ability to utilize all physical extremities (lift 40 lbs.)
• Valid driver’s license (use of personal vehicle necessary for events and special projects)
• This position requires overtime as necessary during event times
Location:
This position is in Paso Robles, California, and includes some travel.
