POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing professional accounting functions, including providing specialized and general financial analysis for Crimson Wine Group. The Compliance Accounting Manager will prepare SEC filings, satisfy internal management reporting requirements, assist with month end close and support the Finance/Accounting Department to ensure corporate and departmental needs are fulfilled. The position primarily supports the Corporate Controller, but also will provide assistance to the CWG Finance Department with daily/weekly analysis and reporting projects, month-end close, and the annual audit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare and coordinate SEC filings including Form 10-Q /10-K and related supporting documentation.
- Prepare HTML and XBRL versions of SEC filings using the WebFilings cloud-based SEC filing tool.
- Assist in the preparation of other SEC filings such as Form 8-K and registration statements, as required.
- Analyze new and proposed accounting standards issued by the SEC and the FASB to determine the impact on the company and implement new accounting standards as required.
- Provide technical expertise for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC regulations.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze department workflow and make recommendations for improving processes.
- Manage external audit process.
- Manage the process to prepare the company for SOX compliance requirements.
- Manage all other compliance accounting functions such as sales, property, excise and income taxes.
- Collaborate with department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Assist with month end close and related reconciliations.
- Ad hoc projects.
EDUCATION TRAINING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required with proven knowledge of external financial reporting requirements.
- CPA required.
- 5 – 7 years of general accounting or finance experience.
- Understanding of accounting theory, GAAP, and SOX.
- Strong public company and/or Big 4 experience preferred.
- Strong work ethic, ability to adapt to rapidly-changing environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced excel required.
- Microsoft Navision and Hyperion Financial Management software experience a plus.
- Strong demonstrated leadership and team process skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with a high level of integrity.
- Strong organizational, project, and time management expertise; critical attention to deadlines.
- Ability to multi task and respond quickly and accurately to demanding situations with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
