Bad Ass Wine Rep
(Wine Jobs:
Sales & Marketing)
Full Time
LA, ORANGE COUNTY, SANTA BARBARA, CENTRAL COAST,
California
We are building our sales team, and need folks who want to sell. You don't need wine sales experience, or know a bunch about different wines. In fact, if you have sold wine before, and wore a suit and tie, and carried a rolling backpack full of random stuff, stop reading right now, this job is not for you.
But if you are bored of your job, want to get out more, and be in a sexy industry, this is for you. So here is the deal. We have a team of nerds who sit behind the phone all-day and cold call. They are nerds, but they don't take “no” for an answer and will feed you hot leads. Every three days these “gurus of the phones” will send you a list of restaurants, wine shops, and clubs in your area, as well as the times and dates you have to be there to taste the wine buyer on our wines.
Once you show up to the account, this is pretty much exactly what you will happen: The wine buyer will be like, “You’ll have to hurry; I am slammed today.” And you will be like, “That's fine. I only have two wines, check these out.” You show him the bottles, and he will get very interested and ask you about them. Then you pour him our wine and pink champagne. He asks how much it is. You start high; he says “no”, and then you say, “$14 a bottle, but just for you, and only if you buy 3 cases.” He says “yes” and you leave. When you are in your car, you send an email to our bookkeeper with the account information and that you love her. Two days later the wine and an invoice show up. Two weeks after that you call the wine buyer, and he is like, “Yeah I was meaning to call you. Can I get 3 more cases?” You say “of course” then send another email to our lovely bookkeeper, and so on and so forth.
The hardest part of this job is the cold calling, so we took that out of the equation. The second hardest part is showing up. The easiest part is selling the wine. We make a bad ass Pink Champagne and an amazing Cab-Syrah blend. At our price point, no one is even close. The labels are epic and definitely glow in the dark. Once we have our wine in an account it is an account for life. And as long as you keep calling the account, you will keep getting paid. Right now our average wine peddler has 25-40 accounts, and makes $3,000 to $4,000 a month.
The only draw back to this job is in the beginning. We don't pay you until we get paid. That is because the industry standard is “Net 30” days on invoices; so don’t go telling your current boss to screw off quite yet. Wait until you get at least 5 accounts under you belt.
We pay 15% of what ever you sell, forever. If you bring a book of accounts, we well give you a salary. We are hiring people all over CA so you can live and work wherever you want. We have a bad ass CRM system in place so you will know where and where not to call. Before you email me, check out our website and Facebook first, we have a certain culture and may want to make sure you fit in before wasting both of out time. Also we are only licensed to sell winery direct in California, so please dont email me if you live in Wisconson or something. Also if you live in Wisconsin I am sorry, you should move out here as fast as possible and then call me.
