Portalupi Winery is seeking a full time associate to work in our downtown Healdsburg Tasting Room. This is the perfect position for someone who wants to become an integral part of a small and dynamic team. Effective and result driven sale’s skills are a must both for wine sales and wine club. We believe in providing guests with a unique and high level wine tasting experience while demonstrating the highest standards of courtesy and hospitality. Job requires flexibility, intuitive skills, a passion for the position and a willingness to run a flawless tasting room while providing a Best of Class customer experience.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Provide each and every guest a memorable and high level wine tasting experience

•  Sell wine and wine club memberships based on monthly goals

•  Generate revenue through phone and email correspondence

•  Describe the uniqueness of the Portalupi brand and lifestyle and the portfolio of Cal Ital wines

•  Perform daily tasting room tasks independently

•  Assist with special events and outside events as needed

•  Depending on skill set, project management and assisting tasting room manager and owner on projects

•  Prepare food for wine pairings start to finish

REQUIRED SKILLS:

•  Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

•  Being a team player, highly motivated, passionate and self starter

•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

•  Ability to manage priorities and workflow

•  Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, Microsoft Office)

•  Excellent customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Wine related experience helpful and knowledge of wines and wine production

•  TIPS and CA Food Handler Certifications preferred, but not required

•  Professional appearance and demeanor

•  Commitment to excellence and high standards

•  Evidence of superior sales performance preferred

•  Must share company values: integrity, respect, value creation, compliance, customer focus

•  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work in an evolving environment with enthusiasm

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

•  Must be at least 21 years of age

•  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties

•  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis

•  Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

 SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 days per week, tasting room hours 11 to 7, daily. room hours
