Albatross Ridge produces some of the Central Coast’s most distinctive and stirring estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. Recognized for their vivid aromatics and varietal purity, these wines have earned an incredibly loyal following among sommeliers and collectors of great cool-climate California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. 

Located just seven miles from the Pacific Ocean, in Carmel Valley, at elevations reaching 1,250 feet, and featuring rare shale soils and limestone soils similar to those found in Burgundy, Monterey County’s Albatross Ridge is one of the most exciting young vineyards in California. The Albatross Ridge property comprised of 244 acres, with views of the Pacific Ocean, is a cool, windswept location, where the temperature rarely gets above 85 degrees and results in heat units of 1,650 to 1,950 annually.

To meet growing demand, we are currently opening are second expanded tasting room in the heart of “Carmel by the Sea Village”. This expanded tasting room will be one of the largest in the area. Are wines available across the United States in addition to our tasting room in Carmel by the Sea.

Albatross Ridge, recognized as one of the most dramatic vineyards in California, which consistently produces ultra premium wine, is currently seeking a highly motivated, well organized, and self-starting individual to join our team and growing organization.


The DTC/Tasting Room Manager will be an integral part of our hospitality team at Albatross Ridge, supporting site operations, staff management, guest experience, sales and budget management.

Due to our continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join our dynamic team and assist in the leadership of our committed tasting room staff. This person will serve as the front line manager for our Tasting Room, Membership Club, and Events. Responsible for all guest/member interaction, financial deliverables, key sales metrics, and training/development of the staff.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Manage our Tasting Room. Coach and develop a Team for the Tasting Room, Private Events and Vineyard.
•    Deliver exceptional consumer experience by pouring wines and educating consumers on our brand in an enthusiastic manner.
•    Function as a Brand Manager. Act as an informed resource for public, industry and consumers regarding Albatross Ridge winemaking, wine-growing, production, vintages, products, availability, awards and accolades.
•    Promote sale of wine and non-wine merchandise and actively participate in driving the team to achieve monthly goals.
•    Promote benefits of joining the Wine Club and achieve the required monthly Wine Club sign up goals.
•    Oversee and manage our Membership Club and wine


•    Minimum four years direct-to-consumer sales and/or customer service experience, Wine Club experience preferred. Marketing and Public Relations experience a plus.
•    College Degree or Sommelier Certification or equivalent preferred.
•    Proven track record of generating direct-to-consumer sales, leading a sales team and delivering results against defined targets.
•    Must be dynamic, innovative, positive and a strong team player.
•    Demonstrated excellence in customer service and sales aptitude.
•    Experience in leading teams, with a proven track record of supervising, leading and coaching.
•    Strong computer skills, notably MSWord, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, POS (Retail and Wine Club), Outlook and Calendar, or equivalent.
•    Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and require minimal day-to-day direction.
•    Strong written, verbal and organizational skills in English.
•    Effective communication with all levels of employees and consumers, written and spoken, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills
•    Strong work ethic
•    Must be able to work flexible shifts and must work weekends (both Saturday and Sunday).
•    Must have knowledge of food and wine market, and understanding/ knowledge of wine and Winemaking as well as current trends/events in the wine business.
•    Must be able to effectively communicate with customers about the Winery history and brand strategy.
•    Appropriate career cycle for position - eager to excel and take on additional responsibilities and grow with the organization.
•    Must have a clean professional appearance and able to represent Albatross Ridge internally and externally.
•    Must be able to travel on occasion to other Company locations.
•    Must be able to remain calm and focused under pressure.
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•    Must be at least 21 years of age
