Description:
Amici is a small, ultra-premium winery located in Calistoga at the northern tip of the Napa Valley. Our focus is on high-end Cabernet sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, and Sauvignon blanc from the Napa Valley and Russian River valleys.
We are seeking two highly motivated individuals with an interest in small-batch winemaking to work with us for the 2018 Harvest Season. The successful candidates will join our small winemaking team and will be given the opportunity to work closely with some of the valley’s best fruit and winemakers. We source fruit from prestigious vineyards from across the entire valley: To Kalon, Morisoli, Missouri Hopper, Spring Mountain Vineyards, Bourn and many more. We work with a highly involved consulting winemaker and perform extensive tannin management to create a style that is both traditional and at the forefront of technical winemaking.
You will be involved in all aspects of production including:
• Tank & Equipment Sanitation
• Red Sorting/Crushing
• Inoculations
• Pumpovers & Punchdowns
• Red and white Ferment Monitoring & Additions
• Drain & Press Operations
• Barrel Preparation
• Racking & Barrel Filling
• Topping
Requirements Include:
• Basic working knowledge of winery practices
• Previous cellar experience is great, but a great attitude and work ethic trumps experience
• Willing to work long and variable hours, including weekends
• Able to perform demanding physical tasks
• Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. (~23kg)
• Able to follow written and oral instruction
• Able to communicate clearly with others
