Part-time Tasting Room Host/Wine Educator
Summary:
The successful candidate will combine excellent communication and customer-service skills in a professional and poised demeanor. Hospitality experience, a love of wine and people, plus enthusiasm is essential in this position. This person will describe, promote, and sell the Wagner family of wines in our Visitor Center, while creating a positive guest experience. As the host, you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests in a warm and friendly manner.
Work Hours: 4 days per week. 3 weekdays will consist of hosting and greeting all guests of Caymus Vineyards Tasting Room in a warm and professional manner and Sunday as wine educator in our tasting room. Flexible schedule required and on call assistance as needed. 10am to 4pm as hostess and Sundays 9:30-4:30. This position has the potential to open up to a full time position.
Duties will also include:
Greet and warmly welcome winery guests.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and wine trade guests.
Manage guest experience for both reservation and the flow of walk-in traffic for optimal execution & customer service.
Operate cash register transactions efficiently
Follow opening and closing procedures
Daily wine inventory count
Stocking wine
Processing and packaging shipping orders
Daily Visitor Center set-up before and after all tasting appointments
Maintaining a clean and organized Visitor Center
Maintain the presence of the Concierge desk, never leave desk unattended, establish support plan with other team members.
Adeptly answers questions about each of the wine’s history and characteristics.
Completes sales of wine and related products to retail customers.
General Requirements
A minimum of two-years related experience is required. Candidate must be at least 21 years old, able to routinely lift boxes of 40 to 50 pounds, and stand for lengthy periods. The position requires the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including Sundays.
Summary
This is a high energy, multi-faceted position. We seek an experienced, customer-service oriented person to join a small, very select team of knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and hospitable staff in presenting our fine wines to the public. General knowledge of Napa Valley, wineries, and restaurants a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook.
Strong computer skills.
RMS software experience a plus.
