Tasting Room Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Matchbook Wine Company is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about wine to manage a the tasting room and lend marketing support for our winery located in Zamora, California. 

Duties include, but are not limited, to:

• Manage tasting room operations, which includes conducting wine tastings, maintaining inventory control systems, merchandising the tasting room, overseeing staff training and scheduling.
• Greet, pour tasting samples for and sell wine to winery visitors
• Promote club membership to winery visitors
• Conduct tours of winery and vineyards as needed
• Be available to work in Tasting Room five days a week including weekends
• Hire and train Tasting Room support staff
• Stock Tasting Room with appropriate products on a daily basis
• Merchandize and maintain cleanliness of Tasting Room
• Maintain par levels of stock and packaging items in stock room
• Update on-line stores with current vintages and special promotions
• Pack and ship on-line orders
• Promote sales and events to club members via email marketing
• Maintain data base of customers
• Represent winery at outside events
• Additional projects as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Outstanding customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure, with shifting priorities and a flexible schedule.
• Ability to write and create marketing materials, email correspondence and social media content.
• Strong computer skills with data entry experience and knowledge of Word, Excel and email marketing programs.
• Ability to calculate figures and work with discounts and percentages.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Prior experience a plus.
