The Controller will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of our company’s financial planning and reporting, debt financing, and budget management functions. S/he will ensure that our company’s accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller will be responsible for providing advice, assistance and follow-ups on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
The essential duties and responsibilities will include:
- Direct and coordinate the company financial planning and budget management functions;
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments;
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against the budget;
- Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies and companies within the Group;
- Oversee the daily operations of the finance department and supervise all department staff;
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts;
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements;
- Management of foreign currency risk hedging;
- Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures;
- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives;
- Serve on planning and policy-making committees;
- Serve as the primary legislative liaison relative to company financial issues;
- Oversee and approve the preparation, processing and distribution of payroll;
- Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries;
- Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements;
- Work with external auditors as primary liaison;
- Manage all required reporting to Group Headquarters using Webgate400 Platform and OBIEE Platform;
- Train and support all Management and Sales Staff in the use of the Webgate400 ERP Platform and OBIEE Platform;
- Management of all data recorded in Webgate400 ERP and OBIEE Platforms;
- Management of procedures that ensure effective implementation and utilization of cost accounting processes for all manufactured and packaged products;
- Preparation of Annual Financial Statements in US GAAP and provide effective support to Group Headquarters for the preparation of Group Consolidated Financial Statements in Italian GAAP.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. *Will accept two years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of experience in the job offered, as an Accountant, Auditor, or in a related occupation.
Candidate must possess three years of education and/or experience in the following:
- Management, use, and training of others with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) business intelligence and analytics platform.
- Management, use and training of others with Webgate400 ERP Platform including financial statements preparation, forecast, budget and long-term plan preparation and intercompany transaction reporting.
- Experience preparing subsidiary company financial statements in accordance with local country GAAP while supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with another country’s GAAP.
- Experience preparing financial statements utilizing cost accounting processes for products manufacturing companies.
