V Wine Room in West Hollywood is currently looking for a full time general manager to oversee all daily activities, special events and manage staff. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

·      Manage the staff by creating a weekly schedule, making sure all opening and closing duties are completed, training, delegating daily tasks, setting and managing daily or weekly sales goals and performance.

·      Marketing, promoting and managing weekly and monthly events. The general manager will work closely with the owner in promoting and managing these events.  The general manager also has creative freedom to come up with new or additional events, run existing events differently and come up with new and creative ways to promote these special events.  

·      Managing social media and webpage. V Wine Room currently has Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and a website that will be overseen by the general manager.  

·      Raise awareness amongst locals and visitors, while keeping the existing V Wine Room brand of a “wine speakeasy” or neighborhood bar intact.  The general manager will work closely with the owner in creating events, themes or special nights to target different demographics in raising awareness of the wine room.

·      Manage and promote the V Library Wine Club memberships, maintain members and expand the club.

·      Maintain inventory levels and reordering wine, cheese, charcuterie and service items.

·      Create an organized system for taking private event requests, planning the events and making sure staff, caterers and any other vendor is prepared and ready to execute each private event. 

·      Respond to or delegate the task of responding to all online, social media and telephone inquires.  This includes phone messages, emails and any other communication with customers/ potential customers. 

·      Weekly reporting to the owner of revenue trends.

 

Qualifications

·      Background in the service industry as a manager, shift manager or assistant manager in a restaurant or bar.

·      Knowledge of Point Of Sale software systems including populating and editing the menus and running reports.

·      Knowledge of basic computer software such as word and excel.

·      Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

·      Have an interest in the wine industry with basic wine knowledge.

 V Wine Room was founded in 2013 as a tasting room and wine bar housed in the historic West Hollywood library.  As such we have created a speakeasy wine library vibe that takes its cues from the 1930’s.  V specializes in California garagiste wines, directly representing over 30 very small producers, acting as an extension of their tasting room.  V also has a small procured list of hard to find international wines, craft beer, cheeses and charcuterie.  V now boasts a glass list of nearly 100 wines by-the-glass and an additional 50+ by the bottle.

 

Compensation to start is $23 per hour plus tip and profit sharing each quarter.
