Fazeli Cellars is a family owned Southern California based winery located in the heart of the Temecula Wine Country. We are a short drive from most of Southern California and offer ancient traditions of Persia rooted in the modern expressions of California. Fazeli Cellars is seeking a Consultant Winemaker with a minimum of 15 years wine making experience who is familiar with the Southern California wine making region. This person will work with our existing wine making team to develop outstanding wines that fit the Fazeli profile of fine wines.
• May be asked to coach and mentor members of the production staff..
• Assist in and provide input in recruiting and hiring of cellar and vineyard staff.
• In cooperation with the wine making team, perform and direct wine making and lab tasks, including but not limited to wine fermentation, additions, racking, blending, barrel maintenance, equipment sanitation, and bottling.
• Evaluate and implement direction of processing of the grapes, production of wine, storage of product and bottling of product.
• Maintain records as required for the purpose of meeting government requirements.
• Work with farm management to manage incoming fruit during harvest.
• Provide input regarding barrel work, including racking, topping, SO2 additions and sanitation, according to wine making team decisions.
• Make recommendation for preparation of trial blends and blend tastings for evaluation purposes.
