Tasting Room Floor Supervisor (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Supervisory responsibility for inspiring the Tasting Room team to deliver exceptional visitor experiences and build brand ambassadors. Overall purpose of this position includes responsibility for leading tasting room operations and supporting daily engagement activities that drive sales results.

• Supervise and ensure proper execution of all aspects of Tasting Room operations, including customer engagement experiences, opening/closing procedures, inventory management, financial accountability and personnel management
• Perform supervisory responsibilities including hiring and training personnel, creating work schedules, conducting performance reviews, coaching and involvement in the disciplinary process
• Oversee day to day inventory management & shipping to maintain service standards and regulatory compliance
• Create positive guest experiences through ongoing staff support and development
• Provide clear direction and support to staff regarding department initiatives and programs
• Assist in creation of weekly schedule that supports business needs
• Help to create sustainable business building programs
• Provide a welcoming and enthusiastic atmosphere for all guests visiting the winery
• Supervise tour route execution and accuracy
• Set clear direction during periods of high visitor traffic
• Collaborate with Guest Services Manager and Wine Club Manager to elevate wine club experience and overall performance
• Work closely with other departments such as Human Resources, Accounting and Marketing
• Recognize that leadership, flexibility & service in this role is critical to its success
• Other related duties assigned
• Position may have contact with other outside organizations
• There is little time spent traveling in this position.
• Position requires some operation of standard office equipment
• All other aspects of position require work in Tasting Room and other visitor areas
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.


• High school diploma required. Some college experience preferred
• Must be 21 years of age. 
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience with the ability to train and develop employees in a retail or relevant environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills that should include public speaking and presentation skills
• Excellent leadership, customer service & strategic selling skills with the ability to train others, monitor their performance and provide constructive feedback
• Able to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment
• Responsible Beverage Server Certificate needed or obtain immediately after starting.
• Must have a high level of ability for detail organization, problem solving and personnel management
• Able to delegate to others to get results
• Able to adjust plan (s) without hesitation
• Availability must include varied hours and weekends
• High energy level
• Open to feedback from multiple sources
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
