This position will perform a wide variety of tasks as follows, but not limited to:
• Manages all cellar functions including cellar crew in all activities of winemaking by assigning staff to specific daily tasks.
• Direct communication with clients and winemakers
• Manage overall winery sanitation and maintain a clean and organized winery
• Perform all aspects of cellar work including: additions, racking, blending, filtering, topping, providing daily workorder to crew, receiving / shipping bulk wine movements
• Works closely with the winemakers to ensure proper wine quality.
• Operate a forklift to move and stack barrels and case goods
• Manage overall winery sanitation and maintain a clean and organized winery
• Ensure cellar equipment and cellar supplies are available, inventoried and in optimal working condition to meet winery production needs
• Demonstrate leadership and professionalism and serve as a role model in the cellar
• Running reports for reporting, inventory, inputing all data and daily workorders in Vintrace
• Bottling prep organization of clients - blending, filtering, and bottling
Qualifications
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Prior experience working in a cellar
• Prior experience managing cellar crew
• Forklift driving experience
• Proficient with Vintrace Winery Software
• Ability to read work orders and carry out winemaking requests
• Ability to operate all winery and harvest crush equipment (all processing equipment – Destemmer, elevator, sorting table destemmer, pumps, press)
• Ability to calculate additions
• Ability to work long hours and weekends when needed
• A positive attitude and a team mentality
• Able to effectively multi-task, is organized, work independently, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Spanish language skills a plus
