Rusack Vineyards is a boutique winery located in Solvang, California dedicated to producing world-class wines. We are searching for an enthusiastic, full-time Cellar Assistant to be involved in all aspects of achieving this goal. The right candidate will be a recent graduate with some winery experience preferred. They should be willing to work in a fast paced environment, and at certain times of the year, 10 hours a day, six days a week, or more! This is a great opportunity to work with some of the best grapes that Santa Barbara County and Catalina Island have to offer.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have a desire to begin a career in the wine industry
- Have some knowledge of chemistry, food science, enology and viticulture, or a related field
- Possess a strong work ethic, and be willing to work long hours both outside and in a cellar environment
- Be able to prioritize, and reprioritize daily duties based on an ever-changing production schedule
- Be willing to get dirty; sorting grapes, cleaning tanks/barrels/equipment, punch-downs, fermentation analysis, filtering, blending, bottling, and so much more.
- Be detail oriented and organized; following and ensuring timely completion of written work orders and verbal instructions
- Be able to stand for long periods and lift approximately 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Learn from more experienced members of the cellar staff
