Bien Nacido Vineyards is a leading producer of terroir-driven, hand-crafted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah. We are seeking full time seasonal cellar, and lab interns with lots of energy and a positive attitude to join our team for the 2019 harvest. This position will start in August and end November, but will ultimately be determined by the weather. The interns will work closely with the winemaking team carrying out a wide variety of hands-on tasks in all facets of harvest work.
This is an opportunity to learn how to operate in a detail oriented, terroir-focused winemaking environment. You will get the opportunity to work with fruit from Bien Nacido and Solomon Hills Vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley. Jobs will include vineyard sampling, and analysis, crop adjustment, cleaning, grape sorting, crushing, monitoring fermentations, cleaning, punch downs, pump-overs, draining, cleaning, pressing, topping, racking, laboratory analysis, cleaning, etc.
Candidates should possess; previous winery experience, experience in wet chemistry, proficient with excel and maintain strong organizational skills.The candidate should also be able to lift/pull/push 50lbs, be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, have a valid driver’s license and have a flexible work schedule.
The winery is located in northern Santa Barbara County, approximately 15 minutes from Santa Maria. We require that applicants have a reliable vehicle.
Housing for interns will be provided on the winery property.
