Wine Club Assistant (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wine Club Assistant is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with current wine club members and eligible customers at Chamisal Vineyards. They will focus on assisting the club manager on driving sales from club members, creating a higher retention rate through consistent contact, and growing the wine club through increased sign ups.This position will report to the Wine Club Manager, who is responsible for driving the Chamisal Wine Club. The ideal candidate must be systems savvy, extremely detailed oriented, and work well in a team-environment.

Wine Club Assistant:

  • Manage database of wine club members.
  • File documents, send out letters and perform other support tasks as required by the Wine Club Manager.
  • Assist with tasting room orders if necessary.
  • Be the extension of the Wine Club Manager in their absence, answering questions from staff and assisting on the tasting room floor.
  • Work with Wine Club Manger and special event team on wine club dinners and events, as needed.
  • Strong sales skills and ability to up-sell. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • Three years related experience with direct to consumer sales or hospitality. Sales experience in luxury service focused organizations. 
  • Knowledge of wine and Direct to Consumer wine sales practices.
  • Basic knowledge of email marketing best practices and experience with email marketing software is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
  • Must be customer focused and consistently able to maintain enthusiasm and project a positive company image. 
  • Must be upbeat with a positive attitude and a strong desire for the challenge of making the sale while not coming across as aggressive.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards. 
  • Excellent customer relation skills, written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably with the public in an efficient, positive and brand-appropriate manner.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Acute attention to detail, particularly in written communication.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. 
  • Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and challenge status quo with a focus on constant improvement.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Able to lift and carry 40lbs for short periods.
