Round Pond Estate in Rutherford is looking for cellar interns to join our 2022 harvest team! If working on a small team and being exposed to all facets of harvest sounds exciting, this could be the internship for you. Grape sampling in the vineyard, processing fruit, pump-overs, additions, press operation and forklifting are just a few activities interns would be involved in. Attention to detail, passion for making world class wines, energetic, fun and a positive attitude are all attributes that we are looking for in an intern. Round Pond is seeking candidates with experience and those looking to work their first harvest.

Objective: Work directly with the winemaking team performing all tasks related to harvest, while furthering one’s understanding of wine production.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maturity sampling
  • Fermentation monitoring
  • Grape receiving, sorting and processing
  • Press operation
  • Forklift driving
  • Juice and wine racking and transfers
  • Daily pump-overs
  • Cleaning and sanitation of all winery equipment
  • Operate both positive displacement and air pumps
  • Wine barrel maintenance, preparation and filling
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills
  • Good reading, writing and math skills
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various temperatures
  • Required to follow all safety protocol
