Position Objective
The Wine Business Institute (WBI) at Sonoma State University is looking for a wine industry professional to develop and deliver a curriculum for an 8 week online course as part of the Online Certificate in Wine Business Management three times per year. The course for which we have an immediate need is described below.
Position Description
Instructors in the Online Certificate in Wine Business Management develop and deliver curriculum in line with the overall program objectives and the specific learning outcomes of their respective course(s). Course is delivered with both synchronous and asynchronous meetings, including online classroom activities and a weekly live webinar. Instructors are expected to update and maintain curriculum with current industry data, case studies, readings and other material. Instructors have access to faculty resources and instructional design and support through the Wine Business Institute and Sonoma State University. Effective instructors are able to engage participants in learning activities and multiple discussion formats, and are accessible to students outside of scheduled webinars.
Qualifications and Experience
A qualified candidate will have a minimum of eight years of wine industry management experience and knowledge across a wide range of areas including general winery management, business development, compliance, production, operations, marketing, finance, sales and distribution. Instructors should have a demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for the wine industry.
Prior teaching experience, especially in an online environment, is preferred but not required.
