Terre Rouge and Easton Wines, a well-established and highly regarded winery in the Sierra Foothills, is seeking a Tasting Room Manager to lead the retail and direct to consumer sales for the winery. This individual must be passionate about wines from around the world and able to communicate this enthusiasm to staff and guests, while meeting sales goals and providing an environment of gracious hospitality. We are looking for a person who possesses a combination of a critical eye for detail, proven sales performance, extensive wine knowledge and a genuine ability to connect with guests and staff.

The Tasting Room and Winery is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, one of the oldest grape growing regions in California.

Terre Rouge specializes in Rhône varietals while the Easton brand focuses on old-vine Zinfandel, Cabernet and Barbera. These artisan wines are crafted by winemaker Bill Easton and the winery was picked as a Top 100 Winery in 2016 & 2019 by Wine and Spirits Magazine and has had Top 100 wines in the Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. The winery is located in a scenic wine region attracting locals and tourists, affording great opportunities for growth.

Position Summary

We are looking for a person to mentor, inspire and direct the tasting room staff.  Engaging with customers and club members and telling the Terre Rouge and Easton story is a major part of the job. The manager works directly with the owners to generate sales and grow the company with both on-premise and DTC sales, by creating successful marketing campaigns. 



Sales and Customer Service

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the tasting room experience, with a focus on guests becoming repeat customers and club members.
  • Develop and implement additional guest experiences with the goal to educate, engage and excite.
  • Oversee DTC and Club Sales

Management and Leadership

  • Train staff on procedures including POS, sign up of wine club members and collecting customer information at the point of sale.
  • Train the staff to achieve daily sales goals and build customer loyalty.
  • Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations.


  • Maintain and manage accurate inventory levels.
  • Maintain tasting room facility, patio and grounds.
  • Fully support the winery’s history, quality winemaking practices and role in the community and wine industry.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Supervisory experience, ideally in winery tasting room or hospitality position.
  • Strong leadership to engage and build a tasting room team.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to tell our story to the public.
  • Extensive computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Direct marketing and social media skills.


The job schedule involves most weekends and some holiday hours.

This is a full time position with a current work schedule of Thursday through Monday. 

The manager must be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.


Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Compensation is based on experience. Includes health benefits and bonus structure.
