Tasting Room Sales Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Job Description:

We are looking for a wine tasting professional with previous tasting room experience. Please have a genuine interest and understanding of wine and the curiosity to learn even more. We are looking for a person who is attentive to detail, gregarious, a person who can engage our customers. This position will cover Friday- Monday shifts and weekends are required. 

Located in Oakville, Napa Valley, Napa Wine Company is seeking a Part Time Tasting Room Sales Associate / Wine Educator to join our team. We have a unique collective tasting room where we offer a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for our guests. We are known for an array of top drawer producers under one roof! Our goal is to share our story with our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Open and close the tasting room
•  Daily preparation for all tastings, including but not limited to set-up and breakdown, preparation of private tastings
•  Potentially assist with Vineyard Tours 
•  Promote Wine Club 
•  Promote Wine Growler Program 
•  Actively strive to reach daily/monthly sales and Wine Club sign up goals
•  Accurately handles purchase transactions, operate a POS & accounting of daily sales
•  Answer incoming phone calls
•  Ensure neat, well organized and fully stocked merchandise displays and request supplies as needed
•  Accurately follow all opening and closing procedures
•  Assists with special events as needed
•  Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
•  1-2 years’ related experience required
•  Strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for wine
•  Focus on providing great hospitality and customer service
•  Detail oriented, multi-tasker and motivated
•  Must be a team player and get along well with others
•  Strong computer proficiency and data entry experience preferred
•  Able to work in fast paced environment
•  Efficiency in hosting multiple groups at the same time
•  Professional appearance and upbeat demeanor
•  Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
•  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
•  Must be able to effectively stock wine and non-wine merchandise, set-up and break down structures, tables, etc. 
•  Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
