Wine Educator (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Trefethen Family Vineyards is looking for a full-time Wine Educator. We are a family-owned estate vineyard and winery in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. For more than 50 years, we have been crafting world-class wines with our own estate-grown grapes. Our historic winery, originally built in 1886 and re-opened in the spring of 2017 after a full restoration, is the centerpiece of our estate and the focal point for the many visitors we receive each year.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Visitor Center Supervisor, the Wine Educator will be a key member of our sales team here at Trefethen. This position is responsible for generating wine sales in person as well as via telephone and through email. The Wine Educator will spend at least 32 hours per week in pursuit of wine sales while hosting guests at our estate. This position will also, on average, spend one day a week supporting our Wine Club sales, Outbound sales and concierge departments. •  Sell wines and promote wine club membership

Job Requirements

•  A welcoming and cheerful disposition with strong verbal and written communication skills
•  Passion for fine wine and hospitality with strong attention to detail
•  Assist as needed with greeting guests at reception, selling tasting experiences, checking guests in
•  Assist Wine Club manager, as needed, with order fulfillment and wine club guest service
•  Support Outbound sales supervisor, as needed, with prospecting and outbound sales needs
•  Keep wine shelves stocked, working area and glassware clean and organized
•  Assist Event Manager in set up, execution and breakdown of special events
•  Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

•  Must be available to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

•  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•  Operate a desktop computer using keyboard and mouse, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions
•  Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
•  Specific vision abilities require close and distance vision
•  Sit and stand for long periods of time
•  Occasionally bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch or climb stairs
