Office bookkeeper (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

An established vineyard and winery operation in Napa is looking for a three to five day per week bookkeeper.  We currently produce 25,000 cases annually and farm over 120 acres of grapes.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-  Daily office operations

-  Post financial transactions, sales and expenses into Quickbooks.

-  Record information into general ledger, balance general ledger accounts, prepare trial balances and financial statements in conjunction with outside accountants.

-  File and process California sales tax reports

-  Work with outside CPA for year-end tax preparation

-  Type reports, correspondence and related materials

-  Answer telephone and written inquiries and provide information as appropriate

-  Pack and ship some customer orders and assist with wine club shipments twice per year.

- Track harvest data and compile records of fruit delivered by customer, as well as production of each vineyard block.

Requirements:

-  Some prior accounting experience

-  Some proficiency with Quickbooks, Excel and Microsoft Office

-  ShipCompliant experience a plus

-  Wine industry experience/knowledge preferred

-  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-  Strong organizing and problem-solving skills

Location:

This position works from our offices in Carneros, about 10 minutes from downtown Napa, and is typically from 9am to 5pm. An ability to work alone is a plus, as others in the company wear many hats and may often be off-site.
