Financial Analyst (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

John Anthony Family of Wines is a high-growth company in downtown Napa. To take us to the next level we’re seeking someone to provide Sales and Operational decision support both in terms of Financial Analysis and Business Insight. The Financial Analyst will be data hungry, but will see the forest for the trees; curious yet focus intelligence where it counts; and dedicated to guiding the Executive Team to lead us to greater heights in this complex and competitive industry.

Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for translating sales, marketing and operational data into business insights. Reporting to the CFO this role will integrate information from multiple data sources (i.e. ERP General Ledger, TradePulse, etc), analyze and interpret into key insights, and communicate clear and actionable recommendations to manage profitability and drive growth. The position requires a high level of collaboration across multiple departments within John Anthony Family of Wines, industry resources, business partners and distributors.

Key Responsibilities:
•  Provide timely monthly and quarterly business reports and presentations for the John Anthony Family of Wines Executive Team (Sales, Marketing, Winemaking, Vineyard Management).
•  Serve as business partner to other departments by providing detailed insight into Actual versus Budget variances and facilitating budget process
•  Support sales projection and depletion modeling processes for nationally distributed JaM Cellars wines 
•  Proactively identify and communicate business opportunities based on industry trends, sales data analytics, consumer marketing insights and shopper behaviors. Lend data interpretation and insights in support of Marketing representing the true voice of the consumer.
•  Perform Ad Hoc Financial and Business Analytic reports and models as needed.

Qualifications:
•  5+ years of experience in Finance and Business Analytics. CPG industry experience including alcohol beverages preferred.
•  Bachelor's degree required
•  Strong understanding of the consumer packaged goods industry, retail and on-premise channels and strategies, brand marketing and shopper marketing concepts. Experience analyzing and interpreting Nielsen Scan data. Also working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
•  Solid understanding of Accounting Principles; i.e. Debits, Credits, General Ledger, Trial Balance
•  Experience working with IRI, Nielsen, etc. including advanced analytic approaches
•  Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables, formulas, formatting and data manipulation, as well as creating and delivering compelling and clear presentations
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to summarize findings into clear and actionable recommendations.
•  Ability to develop internal and external relationships and work within a team structure, while also having the ability to work independently
•  Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively in a fast paced environment
