Controller (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Laird Family Estate, a premium custom crush facility in Napa, is looking for a reliable, team oriented, energetic and enthusiastic individual for our Controller position. This is your opportunity to work at a winery that focuses on small lot, high end wines from some of the top brands in the Napa Valley.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Controller oversees all accounting functions and must have a strong background working with QuickBooks Enterprise. This position is responsible for ensuring all financial records are kept confidential and general office functions run smoothly. Must have excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to prioritize. Must be a quick learner, and self starter. Able to work independently, and able to handle the pressure of an increasing level of responsibility.

Must Requirements:
•  Must have 5 or more years Accounting Experience
•  Must have a complete understanding of accounting principles
•  Manage office, all accounting records of client contracts, employments records
•  Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Bank Reconciliation, Sales Tax Reports, Financial Statements, and annual Budget Reports
•  All banking of weekly deposits, and ACH deposits and payments
•  Manage all office equipment leases and rental agreements
•  Keep up to date inventory of all fixed assets (equipment purchases) for annual Property Tax filings, and audits
•  Work with CPA for all company tax filings
•  HR/Payroll for bi-weekly payroll, payroll tax filing quarterly and annually reports, W-2 filing, new hire reporting, process 401k contributions, Employee Handbook, and time card system (iSolved)
•  Work with Insurance brokers on all insurance renewals. Workman’s Comp, Liability, and employee benefits for medical and dental, and 401k set-up and contributions
•  Able to assist other departments with balancing and accounting changes
•  Prepare and filing of all 1099’s
