Staff Accountant (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for closing the books, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including sub ledger to ledger reconciliations and account reconciliations, cash/credit card reconciliation, accounts payable, and office administration.

The position operates in fast paced, diverse, and hands on environment. As the company continues to grow the Staff Accountant needs to be able to adapt quickly and meet the changing needs.

She/he must be able to work well independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment.

Candidates must be hands-on, proactive, customer service oriented, aspires to achieve, passionate, adaptable and flexible.

Primary Responsibilities 

•         Complete monthly close procedures

•         Maintain fixed assets register, along with the performing annual physical count of fixed assets

•         Analyze expenses and expense accruals to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis

•         Perform balance sheet reconciliations and various accounts analysis

•         Prepare support for quarterly reporting requirements 

•         Prepare audit schedules

•         Process accounts payable transactions and payments

•         Provide office administration support

Requirements and Skills Necessary for the Position

•         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience

•         2+ years of accounting experience in the food, wine or manufacturing industry is strongly preferred

•         High degree of business and technical proficiency, judgment and self-leadership skills

•         Good working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

•         Strong personal leadership skills, including problem solving and analytical skills

•         Must be proactive, detail-oriented, a self-starter, able to take responsibility and maintain high quality and accuracy in reporting with specific deadlines

•         Must be flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions, possess the ability to adapt to the Company’s frequently changing needs and priorities

•         Must be organized
