DTC Associate & Tasting Room Lead (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Job Description:

Hirsch Vineyards is seeking an experienced DTC Associate and Tasting Room Lead to join our team.

This role is responsible for providing impeccable service to existing and future mailing list and wine club members through telephone, email and in-person contact. In addition, this role supports our DTC Sales and Shipping activities.

The client facing aspect of this role has a significant sales component, requiring strong in-person, phone and written sales skills, as well as a passion for creating memorable experiences and providing warm and detail-oriented customer service. The DTC sales and shipping aspects of this role require strong organizational, analytical, computer and collaborative skills in a virtual team environment.

This position works remotely when not in our Healdsburg Tasting Room. Routine work is typically scheduled Tuesday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Private Client Sales.

This role is responsible for the following:

DTC Sales and Customer Service
•  Process and monitor orders (phone, allocation, club and visitors) orders to ensure compliance with customer shipping requests/requirements.
•  Respond to all member/consumer inquiries in accordance with service standards and in a manner that furthers our relationship with our members
•  Maintain accurate data and records of contacts and transactions including new member signups.
•  Perform administrative duties as required, including data input, research, assisting with bulk mailings, etc.
•  Manage donation requests - processing and tracking
•  Perform wine club coordinator activities - includes seasonal club processing, collateral/inserts
•  Support all aspects of the wine club and mailing list releases
•  Send thank you notes and gifts
•  Represent Hirsch at offsite wine events

Tasting Room
•  Host visitors at our Healdsburg tasting location and tell the story of the wines and vineyard
•  Generate and execute on ideas for increasing visitor traffic, improving customer Tasting Room experience, increasing sales and increasing wine club signups
•  Event design and execution
•  Maintain reports of tasting room sales and activity; analyze and report on trends in tasting room activity
•  Assist with reservations and visit requests via phone and email; enter information into reservation and customer databases.
•  Physical packing of wine and restocking
•  Responsible for daily logistics and operations of Tasting Room, including coordinating repairs and maintenance, maintaining and restocking supplies, and inventorying wine
•  Outreach activities to wineries, restaurants and lodging to promote traffic to the tasting room.
•  Occasionally host visitors at our Cazadero location

Minimum Qualifications:
•  Minimum 3 years of experience working in a customer service or sales environment
•  Experience with data entry or databases (ideally a winery customer relationship and POS database such as Vin65, Vine Spring, Vinnow or other)
•  Intermediate skills in the use of a Mac in a networked environment to include MS Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access; Internet browsers, etc.
•  Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
•  Passion for and knowledge of wine
•  Ability to build customer relationships
•  Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively

Preferred Qualifications:
•  Winery DTC, Wine Club or related winery experience
•  Knowledge of wine, winemaking and/or wine culture.
•  Knowledge of the local area, ability to assist members visiting from other areas.
•  Hospitality experience at winery, hotel or restaurant.
