Founded in 1996 by David Ramey and his wife Carla, Ramey Wine Cellars is owned and operated by a family, not a family of investors.

We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Director of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) sales to work with our team in Healdsburg, CA. This is a hands on role which requires previous DTC sales, marketing and hospitality experience in the wine industry. You will work closely with the Ramey family and management to grow our DTC sales program, guiding the strategies, developing & executing plans to bring financial growth and provide a best-in-class guest experience.

You will bring a strong understanding of best-in-class DTC practices for the wine industry and will define clear hospitality performance standards, aligned with the Ramey brand values at all times. You will create compelling sales and marketing programs to attract the right customers, deliver exceptional wine experiences and increase sales. Additionally, you will ensure that plans are developed and managed with an eye to financial accountability for the DTC operation – both forecasting and measuring results to ensure a path to growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES
P&L and Results Management
•  Create plans for forecasting and financial accountability for the DTC operation.
•  Track and report on results as needed for management and staff, including sales performance and other key metrics. Deliver monthly analyses of DTC sales results.
•  Drive ongoing analyses of program results and develop sound business plans from these findings.
Hospitality
•  Works with Ramey family and management to elevate the hospitality experience for our guests.
•  Seeks to personalize the tasting experience for each guest by offering distinctive tastings, unique experiences, tours of the winery and ensuring an overall positive experience for our customers.
•  Build and maintain effective hospitality partnership and referral programs to increase visibility for Ramey Wine Cellars and increase visitorship.
Wine Club & Loyalty
•  Actively promotes Ramey Wine Cellars’ wines and wine club.
•  Implement programs for and lead staff in the acquisition of new wine club members & new customers into the marketing database.
•  Fosters relationships with current wine club member base through regular communication; thank you notes for big purchases, invitations to visit the winery or attend events and notify them of new releases.
•  Determines Wine Club shipments taking into consideration inventory, allocations and exclusivity of wines.
•  Implements customer referral and wine club programming to promote customer loyalty and decrease attrition.
•  Attends and takes a leadership role at all club member and consumer sales events.
Marketing and Programming
•  Develop and execute holistic marketing programs across varied platforms, including print, web, email and social media, to accomplish DTC goals.
•  Implement and manage customer-driven outreach programs based on an understanding of consumer targets and associated behaviors utilizing direct marketing and CRM-based disciplines.
•  Ensure marketing and branding message is consistent with standards across all channels and consumer touch points.
•  Works with team to create DTC sales & marketing materials including emails, direct mail, wine club brochures, promotional handouts and more.
People Leadership and Management
•  Lead, inspire, manage, motivate, coach and mentor staff– to optimize team morale and performance. Activities include staff planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, firing, training, goal setting, assigning and directing work, conducting performance reviews, and addressing/resolving problems.
•  Drive team’s training and professional development efforts to ensure growth and excellence in skills and knowledge.
•  Build and ensure highest levels of teamwork and inter-departmental collaboration.
Business Operations
•  Oversee vintage transitions in the DTC channel in conjunction with management, monitoring inventories and adjusting programs to manage wine supply.
•  Communicate production needs for the DTC channel based on sales forecasts.
•  Maintain current release and library pricing.
•  Complete special projects as needed by management.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
•  5 - 10 years’ experience in wine hospitality and DTC marketing across a variety of channels
•  BA or BS in marketing or other business-related degree
•  Proven leadership skills and the ability to be a team player
•  Strong quantitative competency, including ability to accurately forecast and plan sales results
•  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•  Excellent project management skills
•  Experience with DTC channel marketing programs across a variety of platforms, including print, email, mobile, online and social media
•  High level of proficiency with MS Office programs as well as POS, CRM and database management systems (the winery currently uses Cultivate and ShipCompliant)
•  Willingness to work on holidays and weekends as needed
