Mauritson Family Winery is seeking a lab intern to join our 2018 harvest winemaking team. The Mauritson family has been growing grapes in the Dry Creek Valley since the 1860’s and was one of the original pioneers for the world renowned Rockpile Appellation. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our lab team for the 2018 harvest. Working directly with the winemakers and the enologist, the harvest lab intern is responsible for sampling and running all analyses on juice and wine in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to: brix, pH, TA, temperature, alcohol, volatile acidity, and enzymatic analyses. In addition, the lab intern will be responsible for entering in data into both excel and a database. There will also be opportunities to help in the cellar when all lab responsibilities are complete.
Our lab intern must possess the ability to work in a fast pace and detail oriented environment along with the proven ability to work as a team member or by themselves. Our lab intern must be able to practice patience and positively tolerate and adapt to ever changing demands. At least one winery lab internship experience is required along with proficiency in excel. A degree in science with lab classes is a big plus. Our lab intern must have the ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, and have reliable transportation.
This internship may last 6-8 months depending upon candidate and fit.
