Our Escondido location is nestled in the picturesque San Pasqual Valley overlooking our 70+ acre estate and is open daily for wine tasting and purchases. Job Description:
The winemaker position manages all aspects of winery and vineyard operations. An experienced team of one cellar master and vineyard crew of five provides the necessary support.
The winemaker works closely with the management staff to determine which wines to produce for our club members and our 2 tasting rooms. This position is also responsible for procuring fruit from other vineyards and coordinating the bottling process.
Will often represent the company in functions designed to promote the winery such as winemaker dinners, member events and media requests.
The winemaker maintains compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and participates in company-wide safety programs to build a strong safety culture.
Our vineyard consists of 30+ acres. Wine production ranges from 10,000-16,000 cases per year.
We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualifications:
* Thrives in a work environment with high autonomy
* 5+ years of wine industry experience with 2 years supervising a team
* In-depth understanding of cellar, lab, bottling and vineyard operations
* Competent with computers, office software and related technologies
* Good organizational, planning, and presentation skills
* Bachelors in Enology or Viticulture
