Lead Tasting Room Wine Ambassador (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

At McClain Cellars, we believe that every day is a gift to be enjoyed with those you love the most. McClain Cellars is a luxury wine tasting lounge based in Buellton, CA with two locations. One in Buellton and the other in Laguna Beach. Our winery produces wine in the Santa Ynez Valley of California. We are excited to be expanding our business and we are looking for the perfect person to bring on board during this transition.

We are looking for someone to work about 5 shifts a week which is equivalent to about 20-35 hours a week. This individual would be trained to open and close the lounge and act in a lead role at times. Plus, additional hours may come from added administration work to get to full-time status.

The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
-Excellent hospitality and customer service skills
-Experience in the wine industry, preferably in a wine tasting room
-Driven and motivated to continue learning
-Loyalty to our brand, mission, and family business
-Flexibility in schedule and availability
-Computer and cash register savvy
-Comfortable working under pressure
-Ability to form relationships with guests and give each and every guest an amazing experience at McClain Cellars
-Must be able to lift a case of wine which is 40 to 50 pounds
-Must be at least 21 years old
Must be able to stand for long periods of time - up to an 8 hour shift

Roles and Responsibilities may include the following:
-Opening and closing the lounge which includes setting up and taking down the patio furniture
-Bussing tables and clearing items as well as cleaning and sanitizing the tables
-Answering phone calls and emails
-Providing table service to multiple guests on the patio
-Acting as an informed resource for customers which includes knowledge on our wines, winemaking, and availability of products
-Operate the cash drawer and credit card processing terminals
-Wine and product inventory
-Occasional transportation of wine from storage.
-Inform our customers on our wine club and successfully register new members
