Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley is looking to add a part time Wine Associate to our wine team. This position will be on a part time basis, starting with 2-3 days a week (focused on weekends) upon hiring with potential for increased hours based on needs of the business and individual performance. The primary responsibility of this position is to contribute to the success of the wine team at our tasting room in Yountville, Napa Valley by assisting with hosting tastings, pouring wine for guests, and with order checkout.
The successful candidates will work directly with the Hospitality Leader and Head Sommelier to build lasting relationships with wine and lifestyle product enthusiasts in a setting which will feature a collective tasting of boutique Napa Valley and North Coast wineries. This provides an opportunity to work with over 20 of the most sought after wineries and winemakers in California, such as Philippe Melka, Aaron Pott, Heidi Barrett, and Thomas Brown. For success in this position, the ideal candidate must possess a working wine knowledge, combined with notable interpersonal skills to provide our customers support in a flexible and creative nature.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Always provide the highest quality service to customers and co-workers.
- Pouring and serving wine for clients during their tasting.
- Sets up and breaks down client tastings.
- Assists the Head Sommelier and Wine Consultants with client’s wine experiences.
- Pack wine orders and assist clients with order checkout.
- Conducts point of sale entry for client’s wine orders
- Maintains familiarity with Napa Valley history, wineries of interest and other hospitality businesses.
- Completes any additional tasks as assigned by the Ma(i)sonry leaders.

REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for wine, service, and hospitality.
- Computer proficiency: POS software experience.
- Ability to prioritize and get things done in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong attention to service detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi task numerous projects at one time
- Exemplary interpersonal communication skills
- B.A./B.S. degree preferred but not required
- Valid CA Driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
This position is Part-Time. The hours will vary, depending on scheduling needs. Candidates must be willing to have flexible schedules and must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
