Do you want to be a winemaker? Want hands on experience working directly with a winemaker on as many small lots as possible, learning something new with every wine? You want someone who will teach you why you are doing a task and not just tell you to do it? Do you want to be on a small dynamic team in a brand new Custom Crush Facility making wine with intention? If that sounds exciting then read on!

We are a small, dynamic team of 3 people making premium wines in Sonoma County for a few small labels including Eric Kent Wine Cellars, Ernest Vineyards, Cleary Ranch Vineyards, and Cosa Obra. We will be making these wines at a brand new, state of the art, Custom Crush facility in Windsor, CA this year, Grand Cru Custom Crush, built and owned by one of our clients. We are seeking out 1-2 experienced, motivated, good humored, and detail oriented Harvest Interns for the 2017 season. The position will be seasonal from mid August until mid November, with the potential for a full time position after harvest in the new facility!! We will crush about 150 tons, which will be split into many micro lots! There is always a chance to learn something new!

As our intern, you will work directly with the Winemaker on multiple varietals within Sonoma County from some really beautiful sites. Varietals include, but are not limited to, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Aligote, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Barbera, Rose, and a splash of Cabernet. 

Qualifications: 
Candidates must have a passion for wine and a desire to have a career in winemaking as well as good communication skills, awesome sense of humor, great eye for detail, ability to work on their feet for long and variable hours, POSITIVE ATTITUDE, experience and proficiency in driving a forklift(strongly preferred, but not necessary). Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Good playlists are always a plus!

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required AND at least 1 harvest position or previous cellar work. 

Job duties include but will not be limited to:
Cleaning and sanitization of tanks, equipment, presses, and barrels. Sorting grapes, performing tank additions, monitoring fermentations, performing punchdowns and pumpovers, draining and digging tanks, filling, racking, and topping barrels. You must be able to climb ladders with confidence and have patience.
