Job Description:

Sunce is a family winery located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County. Sunce values a commitment to quality, customer service, good hospitality, team work, and continuous learning and improvement.  Embarking on our 26th vintage, we are looking for a few special people to join us for a period of growth and excitement. We strive to continually explore the world of vitis vinifera and viticulture. To that end, Sunce has produced a career total of 50 varietals from vitis vinifera--each achieving distinction and acclaim. Sunce sells 95% of its wine before it's bottled through futures and prepaid allocations. The winery has amassed a loyal following of over 4,000 subscribers.  A qualified applicant will be well-traveled or equally interested in being so. He'll be interested in the world, where our visitors are from, what they like, and how he can make their visit or wine appreciation more enjoyable. He'll be ambititious, thoughtful, honest, and hardworking. Each member of Sunce's team is personally responsible for the quality and completion of his work.  Sunce requires a satisfactory score on its writing, grammar, and basic wine knowledge/Sunce winery knowledge test. Basic computer, phone, and customer service skills a must. There is no heirarchy or pecking order. One can earn $20,000 or $120,000.  Sunce starts everyone at $20/hour. Sunce strives to pay a living wage. Bonuses commensurate with performance, attititude, and sales. In addition to executing the job duties listed below, employees at Sunce are expected to portray a value of inclusion, and thoughtfulness to its visitors, customers, subscribers and fellow-employees.  We do not do snobby at Sunce.

Position Summary
In addition to the expectations set forth above, it is the responsibility of personnel to provide hospitality in the tasting room, to think creatively about increasing sales and customer traffic to the winery, to make out-bound phone sales calls, and to administer the direct-to-consumer & wine club program. First and foremost, you are a salesperson who is great at customer service and loves good hospitality. You will wear many hats. You are female, male, or any gender or creed. You are from different cultures and races. You are interesting.

The job duties include but are not limited to:

Tasting Room Responsibilities
•  Host wine tastings and barrel tasting
•  Make retail sales in the tasting room
•  Update POS system, and create sales activities
•  Develop ideas creatively and facilitate efforts to increase sales
•  Ensure the customer experience in the tasting room is consistent with Sunce's image
•  Operationally manage the tasting room business:
o Conduct opening and closing procedures
o Manage on-site inventory
o Reconcile cash register daily
o Maintain cleanliness standards
o Manage tasting room supplies
•  Manage Club 
•  Stock Wine
•  Lift 40lb or more 
•  Ship Club on Worldship
•  Manually pack and ship Club
•  Call Club for renewals
•  Update customer database


Sales and Marketing
•  Provide concierge service to visiting VIPs
•  Attend public wine tastings and winemaker dinners as requested
•  Make sales calls
•  Develop, manage and facilitate efforts to increase direct sales

Direct To Consumer Sales Administration
•  Manage all customer communication
o Respond to customer phone calls, emails, etc.
•  Administer the direct wine club and regular order shipments out of the winery
o Order fulfillment
o Shipping logistics
•  Wine knowledge and tasting room experience required
•  Management experience
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers of all backgrounds
•  Strong computer skills. Must be proficient with Excel, Outlook, Word; and QB POS
•  Must be able to write a wine club letter or newsletter
•  Strong organizational, problem solving skills
•  Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize job duties
•  Ability to see tasks through completion
•  Adaptability, flexibility, independently motivated
•  Position includes weekend hours and occasional evenings for events
•  Required to lift 40-lbs

Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred (or student seeking higher education) and winery experience would be nice, but is not a must.
