Full-time Wine Sales Specialist
Our wine department in St Helena is in need of wine sales specialists with the following abilities:
1. Immediately engage and connect with wine customers.
2. Share knowledge and sell the breadth of our collection of 1100 California wines.
3. Work with our private client division on lead qualification and generation.
4. Have the ability and energy to connect with not just guests but also work together with wine and non-wine specialists as a team.
Our wine business is expanding and this position is pivotal in supporting the new demands of both our wine department in the St Helena retail location and private client wine division in Napa Valley. Our best candidates must be able and excited to work in retail wine sales as well as conduct private tastings. Depending upon your strengths and qualifications and the needs of our wine business, you will have the ability to potentially take on a mix or have an emphasis on one or more of the following responsibilities:
1. Work, learn and sell wine in the St Helena wine hall.
2. Host and sell wine at private client wine tastings and seminars.
We have new, exciting projects that will be launched in the first quarter of 2014 and I’m looking for a strong team player that can work with our St Helena store team and with me. – Kerrin Laz, Wine Director
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Innate ability to multi-task and work in a quicker than normal Napa Valley-paced environment.
Very passionate about wine and the desire to learn more about the CA wine world.
Exceptional communication skills – a strong ability to immediately connect and engage with people.
Proven customer service and sales skills.
Extremely detail oriented and very organized.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to lift and carry wine boxes weighing approximately 40-50 lbs.
Must be able to work evening, weekends and holidays.
Dependable and reliable.
Minimum of 2-3 years in the wine business.
Must be over 21 years of age.
Salary information
Hourly + variable compensation. Benefits & PTO for full-time associates.
