Charles Krug is looking for an experienced Special Events Manager who has a passion for driving new business and developing new ideas to elevate all special events. The ideal candidate will be an energetic go-getter who enjoys networking and building strong and lasting relationships with new and existing clients.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all aspects of the Special Events Department, including weddings, corporate events, trade events, and internal events. Work to grow the department to new levels of success by seeking opportunities to drive business and increase revenue-generating events and wine sales.

Specific Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Network and develop new business and ongoing relationships with DMCs, meeting & event planners, corporate event planners, wedding coordinators, and other potential clients.
• Manage department P&L and achieve department budget, sales goals and projections, and provide monthly budget to actual reports to management.
• Manage and schedule Special Events staff.
• Negotiate agreements with outside providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service.
• Maintain a calendar of events and implement a system that enables and anticipates long-term planning and effective event management.
• Recommend ongoing improvements and opportunities for increased revenue and enhanced customer service.
• Oversee catering, audiovisual, security and rental needs to support Charles Krug events and work with the DTC marketing team to develop appropriate tools and promotional materials.
• Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of personnel, subcontractors and vendors as required to successfully execute all aspects of the event.
• Maintain a Special Events client database and conduct regular follow up to keep clients engaged with the winery.
• Develop programs for maximizing wine sales at events and collecting customer contact information.
• Participate in networking events to promote referral business and spearhead new program development.

Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years working in hospitality and events.
• Passion for sales, event planning and business development.
• Budget and projections experience.
• Results and detail-oriented.
• High level of professionalism and customer service skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines.
• A team player who enjoys developing good working relationships company-wide.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
