This dynamic position requires a self-starter who can wear a variety of hats. The ideal candidate will have an extensive rolodex of winery contacts, strong negotiating skills, deep wine knowledge, a solid grasp of wine market commerce trends and a proven track record of managing margin and inventory levels.

Your primary duties will be to source domestic and import wines for our various eCommerce properties, to be offered through daily offerings. You will also be responsible to source specific wines, including Fine & Rare, requested by our Inside Sales Team as well as occasional bulk wine for private label programs.
Candidates should be proactive and possess an energy level that is consistent with a fast-paced and growing business. This position requires a resourceful and detailed-oriented team player who can meet aggressive project deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
Job Duties
Build and develop direct relationships with wineries (primarily West Coast)
Taste and select products to be merchandised on the site according to our various eCommerce companies
Effectively negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure profitability based on our business model
Product research
Write tasting notes and reviews to provide clarity to the company’s creative team about what makes each wine special
Log and track contact database and product pipeline
Merchandise product flow to maximize sales opportunities
Coordinate and manage deliveries and pick up of product from vendors
Coordinate and manage purchase orders to vendors and approve payables
Coordinate deliveries and pick up of wines from/to various vendors and suppliers
Attend/Conduct periodic tastings and seminars
Train & Development of staff members regarding wines
Assist the marketing team in writing articles about wine trends and producers
Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
Potential sourcing of food and related products
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years related experience
Extensive network of winery contacts and knowledge of the industry
A strong ability to work independently with a focus on deadlines, revenue goals and profitability
Demonstrates ability to close
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail
Follows industry news and market trends
Good working knowledge of MS Office
Compliance/COLA/TTB experience
Outstanding creative and strategic thinking abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, staff and vendors daily
Extensive knowledge of the wine purchasing process, including legal aspect
Customer Service and CRM experience
