Westwood Estate Wines is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual, eager to submerse themselves in the Sonoma wine industry, to rock it in our tasting salon. Our newest team member will play a key role in representing the Westwood Brand and ethos and will develop impeccable communication and guest service skills, wine club sales as well as wine knowledge. They will be responsible for providing a unique and memorable experience for each guest through a relaxed environment as well as day-to-day tasting room duties.
Westwood Estate Wines is a small-production, Estate driven winery specializing in single clone Pinot Noir, and single varietal Rhone selections. This is a part time position with growth potential and competitive hourly and commission incentives. This is a trainable position working with the sales team directly, and occasional interaction with our winemaking team, as well as opportunities out in our biodynamic vineyard.
Daily Tasks:
- Preparing the tasting room for opening and closing daily
- Conduct individual, group and VIP guest experiences
- Have a passion for bio-dynamic and sustainable farming practices
- Educate guests regarding our unique wine portfolio
- Promote and effectively sell wine and wine clubs
- Accurately execute point-of-sale transactions, wine club enrollments, answer visitor calls and schedule tastings
- Utilize Google, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Excel
Basic requirements:
- Maintain a level of relevant wine knowledge
- Strong social and communication skills
- Prior hospitality experience within the wine or restaurant industry is preferred
- Being a friendly and helpful team player in a fast-paced environment that often demands multi-tasking
- Ability to educate peers and consumers in an approachable manner
- 21+ and Clean DMV record
- Working knowledge of computer inventory and POS system
- Ability to lift 48 pounds
