St. Francis Winery & Vineyards is currently recruiting for a hard-working, energetic and enthusiastic Lab Tech / Grape Sampler to join our team for the 2017 Harvest.
The Lab Tech / Grape Sampler will be involved in standard crush and lab activities, including:
Berry collecting/sampling/analysis
Determination of brix
pH & TA of grapes
Enzyme additions at hopper
Inoculations
Enzyme/nutrient tank additions
Fermentation checks
Yeast additions
ML Bacteria additions-press/tanks
Chemical analysis of finished wines
Cellar/barrel activities as needed
Vineyard/grape health monitoring
Data Entry and Analysis
Physical Science, Viticultural or related degree or equivalent combination of education experience preferred. Previous industry education and experience preferred. Proficiency in MS Office. Must be available from approximately mid August until mid to late October.. Must be dependable and flexible to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Requires extensive driving. Valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV required. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in the wine industry.
