Cellar Supervisor (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Our Santa Rosa facility is seeking a Cellar Supervisor to supervise and train the cellar crew, and coordinate and implement daily cellar activities in accordance with established ISO and HAACP standards.

JOB DUTIES:

•  Responsible for managing employee work load and time efficiencies so as to complete required winemaking operations while upholding quality and safety standards and minimizing overtime hours.
•  Monitor performance of cellar staff and provide on-going communication to management. Also collaborates with management on completing and delivering performance appraisals.
•  Accurately document all pertinent information (including quantities, type, and lot numbers of additives used; lot numbers of wines involved; time of task start and stop) on work records and follow instructions on work orders. 
•  Ensure compliance with all safety and personnel procedures and policies.
•  Responsible for ensuring that all cellar operations areas are maintained in a high state of order, cleanliness and sanitation at all times. 
•  Provides instruction, training and assistance to cellar workers.
•  Cellar functions to supervise and perform include but are not limited to: 
- The set-up, operation, cleaning, and sanitization of transfer pumps and lines, Plate & Frame, Diatomaceous Earth, Cross Flow, and Membrane filters.
- Steam sanitation of bottling line filler and related equipment.
- Wash-down / chemical sanitation and / or chemical clean of bottling line filler and related equipment.
- Perform routine visual inspection of stainless steel tanks, tanker trucks etc. to determine cleaning and sanitizing need. 
- Transfer (empty / full / pressurized) wine hoses and attach with clamp fittings to (tanks / pumps / transfer lines) to transfer or rack (wine / juice / must / water /cleaning solutions) to the proper destination. 
- Accurately measure dry and liquid additives per calculations and work order instructions for additions to wine / juice.
- Use pump and hoses to complete additions to wine / juice in tank and subsequent mixing to ensure homogenization of tank.
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools to clean cellar floors, walls, tank pads, outside and inside of tanks, and catwalks.
- Drive forklift to move/stack barrels, portable tanks and supplies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•  Work is usually performed in a warehouse environment.
•  Must be able to pass physical and drug testing.
•  Must be able to lift, pull, push or carry up to 75 pounds.
•  Requires frequent standing, stooping and bending.
•  Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights above 20 feet.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required. 
•  4 to 6 years wine cellar experience to include production or manufacturing environment, including 2- 3 years Supervisory experience
•  Must be 21 years of age.
•  Fluent English verbal and written skills required. Ability to communicate in Spanish desired.
•  Must be willing to work flexible hours.
•  Forklift experience with valid California Driver’s License.
•  Must be able to pass a winery forklift training class.
•  Must be computer literate with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
