The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Greenwing and Postmark.

This is a unique opportunity to work with premiere vineyards and custom crush facilities throughout California’s Central Coast. This position will assist The Duckhorn Portfolio’s Central Coast Winemaking team with fermentation monitoring, wine tracking, and data management during the 2024 harvest season. The multi-faceted nature of this position allows for many learning opportunities over the course of harvest. Our ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. The estimated time frame for this position is August 19th through November 11th.

What we will ask you to do:
•  Track fermentation and pull samples from tanks.
•  Maintain wine tracking software and winemaking spreadsheets.
•  Process all weigh tags into winemaking software.
•  Evaluate grape loads as they arrive at custom crush winery locations, as needed.
•  Support Winemaker and Viticulturist with logistics and special projects, as needed.
•  Conduct vineyard sampling in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties and grape maturity analysis, as needed.

What you will need:
•  Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•  Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
•  Ability to work independently and stay on task.
•  Computer skills, including Excel and Word.
•  Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
•  Experience with winery software and/or Viticulture and Enology coursework a plus.
